GROWTH

Dear God, thank You for being the center of my life. I pray that I can be thankful and present in the place that I am at in my athletic journey. When things are getting tough or my path seems never ending, I remind myself to put one foot in front of the other, falling in love with the process. Please allow me to continue to have the ability to give my all every single day. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Dear God, thank You deeply for the opportunity I have to play the sport I love. Lord, I pray that You guide me today while on the field/court in a way that I can execute my job in the best way possible. I pray that I act in a way that reflects You, and allows others to see the work You do inside of me. At the end of the day, I ask that You allow me to have fun, and to understand how blessed I am to be playing the sport I love. Win or lose, I understand the true meaning of my life and how much further it goes than how well I do on the field/court. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Dear Father, I know You have a specific will for each and every person, and I know that Your will is perfect. I want to know Your will and really want to follow it. Please give me the wisdom to know what Your will is for my life. Please show me from Your Word what You desire for me. Through those who come my way, through circumstances in my life, and through Your Spirit living inside of me, give me the guidance I need to make the right decisions and to be in the center of Your will. I know You only want the best for me and I’m praying that You would remove any barrier that is between myself and Your perfect will. In Your Sovereign name I pray. Amen.

Dear Jesus, please help me to grow in godliness. Please show me the importance of growing in the grace and love of the Lord. Help me to develop the desire to grow closer to You. Give me a great hunger for Your Word and a great thirst to know You better. Please surround me with people who model godly lives and inspire me to be like them, and allow me to be a resource for them. Through Your Holy Spirit working in my heart and mind, draw me into a deeper intimacy with You. Help me to fall deeper in love with You, with Your Word, and with Your people. Thank You, Lord! I ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Father Almighty, I know that You are holy and righteous. I know that You are The Great I Am. I need a glimpse of Your holiness and majesty. Please let me know of Your greatness so my faith in You will be strengthened and my witness for You will be greater. Father, please let me know how much You love me and that You desire for me to walk in purity and godliness. Instill in my heart a desire to walk in holiness, and help me to be pleasing to You every day in every aspect of my life. I ask all of this in the holy name of Jesus. Amen.

Dear Father, I pray that You would fill me with the power of Your Holy Spirit. I ask that You would give me a glimpse of Your holiness and glory and fill my heart with love for You. I pray that the Holy Spirit will give me greater gifts and that I will be filled so full of You that I become an even greater witness for You. I ask that Your kingdom would be expanded through Your work in my life. Lord, please make Your Word come alive in my life so that I would learn of Your will and be empowered by Your Spirit to follow You closer than ever. Guide me, teach me, and grow me through Your Holy Spirit living in me. In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit I pray. Amen.

Dear Jesus, Your word tells us that true worshipers worship You in spirit and in truth. That is what You desire and that is my desire Lord as well! I want to be a true worshiper of the one true God. Father, teach me how to worship You even when I am playing the sport that I love. Show me how I can lift up Your name and glorify You in a manner that would bring honor to You. Almighty God, make me a person after Your own heart and motivate me to seek Your face, and not just Your hands, so that I may see Your heart. I humbly ask this in Your holy and majestic name. Amen.

Dear Lord, I pray that You would channel my zeal in a way that would honor and glorify You. Please move my heart so that I would seek Your kingdom and Your righteousness first, before my sport. Help me to make You King of kings and Lord of lords over every aspect of my life. Father please give me a great hunger for Your word and Your will. Draw me so close to You that You know Your will in every area of my life and motivate me to follow You with all the energy and strength that You have given me. I ask this in Your precious name. Amen.

Almighty Father, I put my complete trust in You, and I know that You desire that all men would do the same. Father, I ask that You make Yourself real to me. Help me to see that You love me, that You want good things for me, and that forgiveness only comes from You so that I will turn from my sins and trust You for eternal life. Please speak to me somehow so that I will repent and place my full trust in You. Lord, please bring others into my life who will speak to me about You and help me to find eternal salvation in You. I ask all this in the holy name of Jesus. Amen.

Dear Jesus, Your word tells us that the tongue is a fire and source of destruction. Please help me with how I use my tongue. I say things to others that are hurtful, divisive, and discouraging. It is so easy to have a hateful tongue in the heat of my sport. Please show me from Your word how the tongue can be used to help others and to bring glory, praise and honor to You. Father, please bring someone my way who will lovingly and patiently explain to me how my tongue is not being used to help but to hurt. Where there are hurtful words, bring healing. Where there are expressions of hate, bring love. Where there is gossip, bring encouragement. In Your mighty name I pray. Amen.
